Presentation And Audience Feedback:

From our audience feedback we have taken on board many different opinions about how we can improve when it comes to A2. However, it seemed the audience enjoyed our film and agreed that it conformed to the stereotype of a thriller film and the conventions.

AUDIENCE ADVICE:

Mise En Scene- The audience liked the setting of our film. Our location was at a woods type environment with many alleyways which is why we called our product 'The Alley'. They felt that our location conformed the thriller stereotype as its an exciting and captivating location. We feel that they liked our thriller film as the meeting was fairly original and different. Most thriller films are set in the city.  The assault weapon (plastic bag) was liked by the audience as it was transparent enabling you to see that the protagonist was there but also as it was original and different. Something in which you wouldn't really see in a thriller type film.

Sound- For our soundtrack we used non copyrighted eerie music. We used this as we wanted the film to appear as suspicious and tense. The audience very much liked our soundtrack as it made the whole product more dramatic and interesting. They also liked our sound effects of the phone ringing and loud bang when our protagonist is assaulted as it keeps you engaged but also makes you jump slightly. Our skills had developed as we knew how to add in soundtrack and sound effects accurately and at the right timing. Luiza thought that by having the soundtrack start at the very beginning it created a strange mood and made it feel tense from the very beginning.

Fonts- For our titles and production credits we used mainly white bold writing. We did this as we thought it would stand out among the background and conform to the thriller genre. However, our feedback for our titles was a little disappointing. Eleanor thought we could have used different fonts to make it more exciting and different. The smear transitions we for our credits was liked by our audience as its an effective way for them to enter the shot and disappear.

Editing- We wanted to include a variety of different editing skills. Our main editing technique would be cross cuts as we kept changing location to show the audience the different sides of the story. Our audience said they liked the use of cross cuts as it made the film more thrilling conforming to our film genre. They also said the cross cuts made the film run smoothly making it more successful. We feel using cross cuts really helped us emphasise what our film was about and giving information to the audience. The shot reverse shot scene was also liked by the audience as they were able to see more about the antagonist and sidekick as well as hear their conversation and the plot about the rest of the film.

Sound Effects:

In our film we have included some sound effects to help ensure we achieve a high grade.

BREATHING SOUND EFFECT:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1MPgNGI1Ao&spfreload=10
In our film we have a soundtrack throughout to help keep the audience engaged and interested in our film. It helps fit the thriller genre.
This breathing sound effect is used at the end of our opening as we want people to be gripped in and think is she still alive. The reason we used the breathing is due to her being suffocated and loosing breath.
This clip in non-copyrighted and sounds like a women in distress. It links to our film due to the protagonist being suffocated by a plastic bag.
It comes in effectively and suddenly creating a mysterious suspicious effect.

BANG SOUND EFFECT:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-_JmN2rUNM
Our soundtrack is fairly eerie with no exaggerated bangs or jumpy noises. We found a non-copyrighted sound effect which helps create a tense and scary atmosphere.
We have used this when our protagonist is attacked and when her hand moves.
We are hoping for a reeaction from the audience as it becomes more gripping.

VOICEMAIL SOUND EFFECT:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBrNZrzLVHs
We added a voicemail sound effect to our film when Ellie is trying to get hold of Tara. It enables the audience to understand the situation they are in and understand one of the characters is in danger. It makes the audience feel worried for the character and connect with them. It shows technological convergence which is used dramatically in thrillers.

Influences On Production

We have looked into films such as James Bond, Hunger Games, Batman and Taken which have all inspired us in different ways.
Our film idea has been influenced by my groups understanding and engagement within the genre thriller.

We wanted our film to come across as unoriginal and have a different type of assault scene. We decided to think beyond gun shooting, car chasing and explosive ways of being killed. This is why we chose to use suffocation as a way of murdering our protagonist as its different and unique. My group like this idea as it was fun to film and became a better way of showing off our theme, thriller. We hope by doing this we may gain more marks as our film has different but also interesting changes to succeed the thriller genre.

Our costumes were fairly stereotypical to what you would expect to see in a thriller film. Our antagonist was dressed in all black which connotes death, murder and mystery. Our other characters dressed rather similar as we wanted them to all look quite suspicious. Our protagonist had some colour to her outfit as we wanted her to be portrayed as innocent. These have been influenced by many different thriller films which we have looked at to get as many ideas as possible.

What We Get Up To During Lesson And Time Management

DEADLINE-FRIDAY 12th FEBRUARY
Our deadline is coming up very soon and in order to make sure we achieve the highest grade possible we are really working hard during lessons. We have all got involved in the editing process, however Chloe who is the best with technology knows what she's doing more than others! Myself and Katy are completing our blog pages to ensure we get good grades. Nadiye is searching different sound effects to include in the film to get a perfect finished piece.

Since November we have been editing, blogging, filming, recording and producing all our final outcomes from our AS MEDIA opening two minutes. We have managed to stay focus and make sure our movie is effective and will achieve a good grade.

Throughout lessons we have all worked together and hard to complete editing for our film and anamatic storyboard. We have also ensured out blog posts are up to date and to the best of our ability.

We all spend time at home completing our blogs and thinking of ideas for editing and titles. Once in lessons we discuss our ideas then get editing!

Our Production Company- RED CANYON FILMS

This is our production company, RED CANYON FILMS. We chose this title as we made it up ourselves and thought it was different to normal production credits.

We found a picture of The Grand Canyon on Google images and saved it to our desktop. We then uploaded onto Adobe Premiere elements to use as the production company. We added the title RED CANYON FILMS as we wanted it to be made up. It starts off black and white then flashes to colour before the film starts. This effect helps make the beginning more engaging to the audience and viewers.

We wanted to use white for the words RED CANYON FILMS as it stands out compared to the dull black background.

The image of the Canyon gives a nice effect as the colours are vibrant and exciting. This helps make the film seem as if it will be thrilling and exciting.

For our production we chose a picture of a tiger as they are seen as strong deadly and viscous. Our film is a thriller which involves a murder scene which reflects death. We chose 'VIVID' productions as it empathizes mystery and suspicion which is what we aimed for our film to portray. The block capitals stand out boldly which helps create engagement from the very start.
VIVID DEFINITION- PRODUCING POWERFUL FEELINGS AND STRONG, CLEAR IMAGES IN MIND.
