Hmm... This is difficult! I like horror (sometimes), however I do like a comedy or romance. Which one's my favourite? I'd say comedy!
Why? They always make me laugh, whether its good or bad, you'll always laugh. In most films they usually choose the right actors to do the job. I feel that if you know and like the actor it makes it better. For example I like James Franco and Jonah Hill, they are both hilarious in This is the end. The film alone isn't great but the actors make it very amusing. I also enjoy 21 and 22 Jump Street as I like both the main actors in the film.
The camera angles and shot types are effective in comedy's as they aim to show the emotions and reach the audience. The close up shots show the characters feelings and are the most effective with showing the audience what their thinking. The facial expressions and body language they demonstrate would also be portrayed as funny and entertaining. Medium and long shots enable the audience to see a wider image, and more of the scene. This could be because the entertaining part is in the background and not so obvious. The camera movement 'follow' is also used a lot as it physically follows the main subject leading to amusing scene, something that you weren't expecting to see.
Some of my favourite comedy's are The Inbetweeners, Bad Neighbours, Lets Be Cops, The Other Woman, Mean Girls, Ted and many, many more. I'm always in the mood for a comedy as it brightens up my mood.
