OUIJA, 89 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Would I recommend this film? NO!

Ouija is a typical 2014 horror film, boring and not scary enough. I enjoy horror's as the anticipation of waiting for that jump in your chest is so thrilling it makes my stomach ache. However, Ouija was not what i expected.

The film duration was 89 minutes, long enough? although the acting wasn't great and the story line was also poor. The actors in the film are Olivia Cooke, Daren Kagasoff, Douglas Smith, Lin Shaye and many more. There isn't anyone particularly famous meaning its not worthwhile. The characters are presented as your average teens, bored in school and not scared to try anything. One character in particular Debbie, is shown as  quiet and strange. Debbie plays the Ouija board by herself, and we all know you should never play alone. Debbie is  then mysteriously killed and thats the end of her.

However, the film runs with a story line of figuring out where Debbie went. Five friends of Debbie's play the game at her house, they think they're connecting with her but there not. Over the duration of the film one by one each friend dies due to a curse from the board. At the end one girl stops the curse and then it finishes.

The camera angles and shots in this film aren't effective. There are some close ups which focus on the characters faces showing their emotion but, there isn't much emotion to this film. Theres long shots, two shots, mid shots, point of view shots etc and they're all fairly good and appropriate but the characters don't show enough emotion to make the film good.

Sounds, the film is creepy and jumpy so the sounds are effective. Every build up to a scene has a good freaky tune which helps towards expectation that something is about to jump up at the screen.

I wouldn't watch this film again and also wouldn't recommend it, however its not going to stop me watching more horror films!!
